Apparently, some yokel recently bought a copy of my song "Anastasia's Clone" through iTunes. I got a whole 59 cents US for it (slightly less than a dollar our money). Damn, and what happens if someone starts buying my good songs? (Could someone with an iTunes account tell me how many of my songs are available via this method? Just curious.)

In other news, I'm sure the con was a lot of fun, but I wouldn't know firsthand as I spent most of it curled up in bed sobbing. What a time to have my first Really Bad Weekend in ages. *sigh*

How did your songs get into this netbased vending machine? Could everyone sell their songs via something like iTunes, or does one have to be a somehow acknowledged musician? I'm very curious about this.

via CDBaby.com... they're the best way to get a barcode for a CD, and a pretty good store.

The entire album is up, and one can play a sample of each song. In case you're interested, the person who purchased "Anastasia's Clone" also purchased these albums:

Nellie McKay - Get Away from Me
Monsterland - Loser Friendly (EP)
Coldcut - Let Us Play!
Black Moustache - Black Moustache
The Color Red - Clear

i have nothing against anastasia's clone; i like 'weekend witch' better, but AC is still good for bopping (or whatever the young hip people are calling it these days) to.

out of interest, which do you define as your best songs these days? personally, i'm still fanatically attached to 'world without end' and 'sparks', probably with 'weekend witch' in #3 spot. ahhh, such good memories of singing along at your gigs :) oh, and that fantastic irish jig (anderson's jig, from memory?) where you show off your fabulous manual dexterity.

PS england are 98/5 *points and giggles* that follow on target of 552 looks a looooong way away.

"Sparks" is possibly perfect. "Weekend Witch" has its weaknesses but it's also insanely catchy. And "Girl Without a Past" seems to go down very well. You'll get to hear the latter in July, if I don't get around to putting it online before then. If you think the solo in the jig showed off my busy finger well, you'll *drool* over the instrumental sections in this.

"World Without End"... I don't like playing it much any more. It's just too damn depressing.

i look forward to hearing the new song! i'm not surprised you don't like playing 'world without end'. i hope you can still see that it's beautifully crafted with very moving lyrics. i have it on cd so i don't have to bug you to play it :)
