On Saturday night, I played [livejournal.com profile] jessikast Black Celebration.

She asked to hear it again. Twice.

I expect extra kudos from [livejournal.com profile] doctorcal for this.

Actually, I also want to borrow the CD. For that, [livejournal.com profile] doctorcal ought to send you chocolate, or something.

Damn, babe, if you liked that, you're going to *cream* over Violator!

You're only saying that because you want some of the chocolate. ;)

Violator and Black Celebration are two of my top three Mode albums (the other one is A Broken Frame, which is very definitely early-80s-synthpop and has some very silly lyrics but has a lovely melancholy feel to it. Songs of Faith and Devotion comes close). You should definitely get Daph to play it for you.

Much kudos to you, o mighty Knight Commander. I'd definitely suggest Violator next, and maybe Songs of Faith and Devotion if you are both in the mood ;)

Do you want some New Model Army? I don't think I've sent you any CDs for some time. (It'll have to wait until after I get paid, though.)

Yeah, didn't you say you were going to send me some NMA CDs a while back? I'd particularly like Impurity if you can lay your hands on it - I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Heh. I was just saying to Jess that the CD burner has just about made the cassette tape an obsolete format. So much of my collection is based on dubbed tapes from public library CDs - I'll have to recopy them in the new format, although if you're a record company lawyer I didn't just say that.

If a while back is in the last couple of weeks after I got that big haul, probably :)

Impurity and No Rest for the Wicked are the only studio albums of theirs that I don't own. They're both still in print, though, and I have seen Impurity before - it was always a choice between that and another one, so I never ended up getting it. With any luck it'll turn up in Melbourne.

Have you had a chance to listen to the Einstürzende Neubauten I sent you? I'd be interested to know what you thought of it.

I have No Rest for the Wicked, on tape.

No, I never got around to listening to the E-N album, but I freakin' thrashed the KMFDM albums you sent me while I was in Thailand. Great enforced-relaxation music.

That's what I sent them for! I can't remember which ones I sent you - Nihil and Attak, was it? I'll have to send you WWIII (their latest) - it has some top songs on it. And if I'm sending CDs, I should really send some of The (International) Noise Conspiracy for the benefit of your lovely self and [livejournal.com profile] darthsappho if you haven't heard of them already...

If you have a spare 11 minutes, do check out NNNAAAMMM. It's very simple and very complex all at the same time.
