administrators are not our friends
Feb. 17th, 2004 11:11 amMy supervisor gave the addresses of the two external examiners of my thesis to the Faculty bureaucrats before Christmas. Last week they got back to her and said "er, who were we supposed to send these to again?" *tears hair out* So, it's going to be at least another month before I can start saying "that's Doctor commie-pervert to you!" *sigh*
But, anyway, I've got the services of Elizabeth Webby (University of Sydney) and Lawrence Jones (University of Otago), who are pretty much the best of the best in this area. (The other big name would have been Terry Sturm (University of Auckland), but I think I disagreed with him too many times.) Actually, I figure that examining doctoral theses is probably good for the examiners; if we lowly PhD candidates have any good ideas, they can steal them (or at least feel like they're keeping abreast with all the bright ideas in their field).

In other news, I didn't wear a bra to work yesterday. Going down stairs *hurt*. Never doing that again. :)
