Gaels 2 - 8 (14) : Harps 3 -2 (11)

We were up by two points at halftime, and the opposition scored five unanswered points in the second half. Not a lot more can be said than that. Three straight losses in the season.

Your humble narrator played in the midfield for most of the match, and once the initial performance anxiety wore off, kind of liked it. At least I got a lot of ball and was able to make some storming runs downfield... even though I missed a pretty easy kick on goal near the end of the first half. I can tell I'm doing my job because the opposition start whining about my, er, aggressive style. :)

Commiserations on the loss. I'll be there to cheer you on next weekend, though, which will surely make all the difference.

What time will your game be on Sunday, and how long will it last? I'm trying to fit in seeing multiple friends and relatives during my short stay.

I always win at soccer when my friends from Welly come up, so we'll see whether the effect extends to the other round-ball code.

Not sure exactly when the game is yet - we tend to find out the draw about Tuesday or Wednesday during the week. But a game goes for 2 halves of 30 minutes each way, and it will begin at either 11 am, 1:30 pm or 4 pm.

Oh, here we are, we're playing at 4 pm, which will mean I'll want to be there at the ground from 3 pm and (inc. getting changed and drink after the game, etc) will be ready to go at 5:45 or thereabouts.

OK, cool. I might try to meet up with my aunt or cousin or [insert other vague relative here] for brunch or lunch, and then meet you at the ground for the game.

My grandmother has now been admitted to hospital, but it's possible she'll be released and back home by Sunday. So if I'm still able to stay with her, I'll have to head off soon after the game and find my way over to Takapuna.
