Well, the quote in the third-to-last paragraph of this article by Chris Trotter in The Independent is credited to Grant Morgan. But that's actually from my (unsigned) article on the back page of the last Unity. Contrary to what certain sectarian loons will tell you, Grant Morgan does not work every single member of my organisation like puppets. :)

I just got out of my regular dose of insane stress - making a monthly political magazine appear - and am about to incur another self-inflicted injury, namely, omigod the UNDERGRAD ESSAYS!!!! *sigh*

Everyone I meet, when I tell them I'm going to Auckland, tell me that its transport system is disastrous and the cost of living is sky-high. Does anyone ever move there of their own free will, and if so why?

If you met people from London, they would tell you (as they have me) that the transport isn't bad and the cost of living is OMG so cheap.

We had about 20 marketing/portfolio management people be given the choice "move to Auckland or be made redundant". Only 2 chose to move - one got a promotion to a senior role and the other had a new love in Auckland and so wanted to move there anyway.

I would consider Auckland if I were going to NZ. It can't have worse public transport than Canberra :)

You may be cheered to know that The Age newspaper described Vettori as "probably the best bowler in the world". They meant the World XI, but still ;)
