U2's album 'the unforgettable fire' was inspired by an art exhibition of the same name, which I believe featured artwork by children who survived Hiroshima. Pretty harrowing stuff to see.

The Rush song isn't my favourite of theirs. I think Peart misses the point that Hiroshima wasn't the last shot of WW2, but the opening shot of the Cold War. A city died in agony not to cow Hirohito, but to put the fear into Joe Stalin. Still, the subject matter is appropriate.

Of course, anyone who uses an animated MST3K icon is good in my book.
