Keep your Saturday night, 27 August, free. Ugly rumour has it that a certain self-indulgent, guttural militant will be playing a gig at noted unsalubrious performance space, The Cake Shop. The official website will no doubt be able to confirm details like support act, ticket price etc as soon as they become available.

that place is less kareoke bar more...sinister drug den for beat enthusiasts. You should be careful people don't get converted to anarchism somewhere in the space between the main stage and the toilets - the subliminal messaging is pretty un-subtle/not subliminal at all.

Also, I've talked to a lot of folk, and none of them know the Sisters...(but all know the Cohen song and that they're not departed or gone).

Maybe i just don't know the right poeple. ...I *do* live with a scince major, a law student and an army officer.

Hopefully the Leninist brainwashing from the stage will throw a spanner into the Kropotkinite braniwashing coming from the decor. And might I say that yes, certainly you're living with the wrong people. The public library has enough material that you can repair your ignorance - more here (http://www.thesistersofmercy.com).

By the way, you're invited to the next gig free of charge - in the hopes that you'll write another amusingly tart review, now you have a better idea of what to expect.

I prefer 'bitter' or 'scarring'

tart.
how very flattering.
I'll be at home distributing militant feminist brainwashing to small-town highschool students that weekend - so you're safe. Also i have an Umberto Eco novel to rip to shreds; my intellectual sadist is currently satisfied.
I personally already know vaugely who the sisters are - unfortunately it's hard to make time for them in amongst researching that...obscure.."joy division" band?

I'll be there in spirit... *sob*.

Ah well, at least you won't have to worry about me getting converted to anarchism.
