Spot the difference:

When Winston trots out his usual nonsense in election year, immigrant communities all brace themselves for the fear and loathing heading their way. But this time, it’s almost as if Peters has heard that the fascist National Front is looking for a new führer and he’s making a job application.

- my editorial in the upcoming Unity

Peters is the ugly face of New Zealand politics – all the more so because he is smart enough to know that his proposed “flying squad” searching the homes of “undesirables” echoes Hitler's Germany. It's no coincidence that the leader of the National Front has quit politics – NZ First has stolen their policies.

- Rod Donald's speech to the Green Party conference last weekend

Obviously the Greens have a mole in our organisation and are stealing all our good rhetorical figures!

One could point out that there shouldn't be significant differences beteen any left wing group on Winston's actions and policies, and if the mesage form all sources is the same it's more likely to be picked up by the public than if everyone has their own arguments.

"Facelift" last night got right into Peters, with his Flying Squad dressed as WWII fighter pilots finding a man who was associated with a corrupt regime whose election practices had been criticised by the UN, that financially supported and trained terrorists and illegally tortures people, among other civil rights abuses. Unfortunately for Winston, it was the US ambassador.
