Another political lyric, ladies and gentlemen, although I'm sure it can be applied to other situations of petty gossip and backbiting.

How are you going to change the world
When you can't even get out of your own way?
How are you going to speak for the masses
When no-one wants to hear what you say?
You've been waiting for the right time far too long
Now emerging, but you come on way too strong
Now that no-one wants to know your opinion
On where everyone else got it wrong

Six guys in a room is not a party
Six-guns blazing somewhere out of reach
So many personality problems
You'll never have to practice what you preach
You've been practising the slogans in your sleep
And they told you that the treasure's yours to keep
Your polemics have the force of explosions
Your mind so impossibly deep

Small group psychosis
Has got you on the run;
Sounds of the chosen
Say a prayer for everyone
Small group psychosis
You're like nothing that they've ever seen
But nobody cares what you're going
Nobody cares where you've been

Your friends underwrite your performance
Your failures underwrite your despair
Just find some internal opponents
The problem's really those guys over there
They're the traitors who would question your intent
They're distorting what you say, they're beneath contempt
The obstacle that has to go, even though
They agree with you ninety percent

Now we're really not so different, you and I
We both want to change the world, and we have to try
But did you really have to slander what I'm doing
And look in my eyes as you lie?

Small group psychosis
Has got you on the run;
Sounds of the chosen
Say a prayer for everyone
Small group psychosis
You're like nothing that they've ever seen
But nobody cares what you're going
Nobody cares where you've been

Sounds like it would be quite a bouncy tune!

Nice deconstruction of your average impotent poli-club, and perfectly captures the reasons I don't bother with them anynore.

Might be a good way to make enemies though :)

Those dudes are already my enemies. Well, behind my back anyway. They're nice as pie to my face because they fear me. Hence the last verse.

Probably not, as the music is only half-baked inside my head right now. However, there will be one brand-new song, lyrics which have never been published anywhere (as I was waiting for permission from the song's subject). So there's some extra incentive for you to get people along.
