A while back, a friend of mine was involved in organizing a BDSM convention, and made the comment while watching the people file in at the registration desk that he recognized so many of them from either pagan events, science fiction conventions, the bisexual and/or polyamorous community, SCA events, etc. that "One of these days we should just have The Con. You know, the bi-poly-science fiction-fantasy-S&M-RenFaire-SCA-gamer-computer geek con. Because it's 90% the same people who show up to all of them!"
